In this video shot at Wearable Technology Show 2016 event in London, Vincent Perrier, CMO of MicroEJ, explains how the future of wearable technology lies in power efficient bespoke software. Wearables, IoT, and embedded devices require optimized Operating System to be able to run on low-cost, low-power MCUs. MicroEJ OS, sitting on top of a real-time kernel, provides many services to application developers, as well the possibility to program in C/C++ but also with the Java language, enabling extreme software portability.
This video shows some demo applications of MicroEJ OS demonstrated during the Wearable Technology Show 2016. It includes a smartwatch developed with MicroEJ SDK and running on STMicroelectronics STM32F746G-DISCO (ARM Cortex™-M7 @216MHz, 480×272 LCD display, 16-bit colors). It shows MicroEJ Application Store for application download and features like Alpha blending, Transparency, ST Chrom Art, or Antialiasing.
