New product MicroEJ Studio allows independent developers community to create applications for MicroEJ-ready IoT devices.

Nantes, November 03, 2015 – MicroEJ®, an IS2T brand, today announced the immediate availability for free download of the alpha release of its new product MicroEJ Studio. MicroEJ Studio provides a software development environment to create appealing, portable and secure embedded applications for MicroEJ-ready connected devices. MicroEJ Studio is built on Eclipse and will be demonstrated to the Eclipse community of developers at today’s EclipseCon Europe in Ludwigsburg, Germany.

MicroEJ Studio opens the door to the development of applications for MicroEJ-ready devices by third-party software developers. MicroEJ Studio is the first step of a long-term strategy to enable the Internet-of-Things revolution. MicroEJ solutions will bring the user experience and capabilities of smartphones and tablets to the IoT world running on low-cost and resource-limited microcontrollers. A complete offering will be rolled out in the coming months. The MicroEJ Application Store will host virtual devices published by OEMs, and applications created by developers for the MicroEJ Application Platform running on those devices. This complete solution dedicated to OEMs and IoT service providers aims at opening software content of devices to a community of developers. It will be announced later this year and showcased in January at the CES 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Starting today, developers can download MicroEJ Studio for free on and create applications for evaluation boards from STMicroelectronics and Renesas Electronics. Later in November, developers will be able to register on the MicroEJ Application Store and publish their applications.

MicroEJ Studio will be available first for STMicroelectronics STM32F746G-DISCO and Renesas Synergy™ S7 PE-HMI boards. Additional MicroEJ-ready devices and evaluation boards will be available from various OEMs and silicon vendors throughout 2016.
