Jfokus 2014: Java application platforms for design-to-cost embedded systems

Java application platforms for design-to-cost embedded systems presented at the JFOKUS 2014 event

Jfokus is all about Java developers. It is one of the largest conference dedicated to Java language in Europe. This year’s Jfokus event took place in Stockholm from the 3rd to the 5th of February. The latest innovations and trends in the Java world were presented with a strong focus on Internet of Things. IS2T was there and Régis Latawiec, COO, presented the MicroEJ Java technology and its features, suitable for all kinds of embedded software applications.

Feel free to download the pdf presentation about the relevance of  the Java technology (Object Oriented Programming and virtual platforms) to design-to-cost embedded electronic systems. The presentation demonstrates the efficiency of Java design processes for embedded systems leading to faster time-to-market.

Some other issues were also covered through the presentation:

  • Regular Java application platforms for microcontrollers such as STMicroelectronics‘s STM32 MCUs,
  • Java synergies with underlying Operating System and C code,
  • Graphical User Interface design with MicroEJ MicroUI/MWT Java solution,
  • OSGi Service Oriented Application design with MicroEJ dedicated to Internet-of-Things devices.
